Product details

Reduce the weight of your shoe plates by half while achieving four times the lifespan. Brass cleats are soft and wear out quickly, whereas 3D-printed titanium is much harder and half the weight.

  • Shimano SPD 24 g, 30 g lighter than standard
  • 6V/4AL titanium hardware included
  • 3D-printed in Indianapolis
  • 4x higher lifespan than brass

Traditionally, there were only two material options for mountain cleats: construction steel and brass. This was intended to ensure that the shoe plates wore out faster than the pedal surface, but it often resulted in the shoe plates wearing out very quickly and, in all cases, being quite heavy.

This is where 6/4 titanium comes into play, which is only slightly less hard than the tool or spring steel used in the pedals. It is an impressive 2.25 times stronger and 3 times tougher than brass or construction steel. Best of all, the extreme toughness and abrasion resistance of 6Al/4V titanium means you can expect a 300-400% longer wear life compared to conventional materials.

By combining 3D printing technology with this material, which is one-third lighter than steel, we are able to produce a shoe plate with an internal lattice structure (called Gyroid) that maintains stiffness and strength while reducing weight, resulting in a shoe plate set that weighs only half as much as a standard shoe plate set.

This weight saving of 25-30 grams per cleat set adds up over time, especially in CX competitions where every bit of performance counts. 25 g less x 100 revolutions per minute = 180 kg of unlifted weight per riding hour, 90 kg per leg!.
