It seems that the 2 baskets are not the same size and that one is made of steel and the other of aluminium. Use the Galaxus comparator to see the differences.

ouw, yes, I had to do a lot of research for this question 3 years ago, and now I don't remember exactly. 1.0 and 2.0 are two different standards. Both consist of a part that stays fixed to the bike and a part that is mounted to the basket. I think, but I'm not sure, that 2.0 baskets are downward compatible and stick to 1.0. 1.0 baskets do not go on 2.0, but I'm not quite sure anymore. You'll have to look it up yourself and read up.
The system doesn't fit all bike racks either. I have a Riese und Müller, and I couldn't fit it there. Think carefully about whether you want to buy a basket with a lid. It rains quite a lot in this country and not all your luggage likes to be pissed away. LG
