The Gardena smart Sensor accurately measures soil moisture over an extra-large sensor zone exactly where it matters, at the roots of the plants. Whether deep in lawns and flower beds or in shallower flower pots, the sensor ensures demand-oriented and efficient irrigation of the plants when combined with the Gardena smart Water Control or smart Irrigation Control from the Gardena smart system. The smart Sensor transmits the current status data to the Gardena Gateway via radio. If the sensor measurement indicates that the soil is sufficiently moist, the next watering is skipped. Additionally, the smart Sensor also measures the near-ground temperature. The flat sensor protrudes only 20 mm from the ground, allowing it to remain on the lawn where a robotic mower is in use without being damaged.
