These mortise locks feature a mechanically switchable day function (lock rotation in the open position towards the closing direction to the stop). This allows the door to be accessible from both sides, as the latch is soft and operates similarly to a roller latch. When the day function is turned off (lock rotation in the open position towards the opening direction), the lock automatically engages when the door is closed (self-locking). Exiting through a locked door is always possible via the interior handle, a panic bar, or a push bar. These mechanisms retract the long bolt, and simultaneously the latch becomes soft (panic function). A knob or a handle bar is mounted on the outside. The door can be opened from the outside with a key by switching.
