Polyester with polyurethane (PU) Most of our pavilion roofs are made of polyester with a PU coating. A polyurethane (PU) coating is essentially a layer of plastic applied to the polyester. Think of this coating as a kind of waterproofing agent with strong water-repellent properties. At the same time, the PU coating provides additional durability, making the pavilion roofs tear-resistant, crease-resistant, and abrasion-resistant. On the other hand, the coating also makes the pavilion roof heavier and thicker, as the PU coating has a certain volume.
