Product details

With the ON/OFF control unit, the Votronic MobilPOWER SMI Sinus series voltage converters can be automatically turned on and off via the D+ connection of the alternator.

By applying 12V or 24V battery voltage through a main switch, timer, simple ON/OFF switch, etc., to the On/Off terminal, the inverter can also be turned on and off.

The control panel present on the inverter can be omitted, as the device is now switched on and off via the ON/OFF control unit. If the control panel is still to be used as a display panel, it can be placed remotely from the device. For this purpose, a 5-meter control cable included with the inverter is available.

Function

When the control input on the ON/OFF control unit is supplied with voltage, the inverter starts operating after a waiting period of 3 seconds. Similarly, the device is turned off with a time delay of about 3 seconds. In conjunction with the ON/OFF control unit, the inverter always starts in continuous operation. The switch function on the control panel is limited, meaning that manually turning the inverter on and off is no longer possible. However, in case of an error, the device can be reset via this switch, and the inverter can be restarted using the ON/OFF control unit. If the control voltage at the D+ control input of the ON/OFF control unit is removed, the inverter will turn off in any case.
