Is it possible to operate this unit offline? That is, you set it up (e.g. with an internet connection), then set it up in a place without internet and simply save to the SD card?

The unit is connected to the indoor receiver during set-up. This connection must exist, otherwise the camera will not record anything, because the images are stored on the receiver. Internet is not required for this operation.
