I installed the DorrBell with the transformer supplied. The transformer also supplies the bell. It is mandatory to install this small part that is in the package (it is somehow a small power accumulator that possibly smoothes power consumption peaks of the bell) between DoorBell and bell and in the settings you can then select whether to install with bell or without. If with, you are asked whether the bell is mechanical or electronic. I have a three-channel electronic bell from Jung inside and everything works great.
