Quicksand is a real-time collaborative challenge in which players combine their efforts to defuse the Quicksand, an ancient apparatus of sand and gears. A giant vortex in the desert has dragged you into an underground temple forgotten for centuries and the only way to return to the surface is to deactivate all 21 traps of the Quicksand. Attention! You cannot act too quickly or too slowly or the Quicksand will activate: only perfect teamwork will allow you to deactivate this ancient device. Take turns playing cards to flip and advance one or more hourglasses your goal is to prevent one of them from running out before you have deactivated the contraption. Hourglasses are found on Gear tiles, each with a different shape and color combination. Each of your cards depicts only 1 shape – or – 1 color from those available, and when you play a card, all the hourglasses on the corresponding tiles are flipped and advanced onto the next tiles – whether you want it or not. If you flip an hourglass too early you could get yourself into trouble... but if you wait too long, the game will inevitably end. You will have to strategically coordinate as a team to deactivate the Quicksand before the hourglasses run out! Contents: 5 hourglasses, 19 gear tiles, 55 cards, 1 defuse token, 3 block tokens.
