The cathedral “Notre-Dame de Paris” was built on an island in the Seine located in the historic center of Paris. With is characteristic silhouette, it is one of the most renowned and most important buildings of this city and far beyond its city limits. Since 1991, this awe-inspiring gothic cathedral has been one of the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO. The cathedral was seriously damaged by a disastrous fire in April 2019.
