The Niedersachsen Quick Truck was Reliable in Fire Service

In fire services, the Niedersachsen was always dependable. It's no wonder that the Hanomag L 28 often served as a background vehicle in the fleets of firefighters. It frequently found a second life there after the municipal workshop had retired the popular and agile quick truck. Initially designed for a payload of 1.5 tons, later versions followed with payloads of up to 3 tons – the diesel engines initially had 50, later 65 and 70 horsepower. The best-selling Hanomag diesel was, of course, the flatbed truck, which secured its place in fire stations.

The cab and flatbed are red, with the front fenders printed in solid black. The interior and steering wheel are black. The chassis, drive shaft, and rims are black. The tarpaulin is tent gray. The blue light is mounted in a red base at the center of the roof. The door handles, front headlights, and Hanomag lettering, as well as the window frames, are silver.
