Cananga odorata
Ylang-ylang is a tropical tree with intensely fragrant whitish-yellow flowers that is cultivated in Madagascar, Reunion and the Comoros. In its natural habitat, the Ylang-Ylang tree grows to a height of 10 - 30 m, but in cultivation it is pruned to a height of 2 - 3 m. The distillation of the flowers takes up to 20 hours. Ylang-ylang is an important raw material for perfumery.
