Nothing Phone (2) to be released in July and more details

Nothing is using a salami-slicing tactic for the launch of its second smartphone. The manufacturer is gradually revealing details about the Phone (2) at intervals of several weeks. Now the approximate start date, the battery capacity and the built-in processor are known.

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, July and 4700 mAh

At the Mobile World Congress at the end of February, Nothing announced that the Phone (2) would be equipped with an 8-series Snapdragon. On 18 May, company boss Carl Pei confirmed that it would be the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Although this means that the new smartphone will not catch up with the current top models, it will be a step up from the Phone (1) but clearly too, as Pei explained in detail on Twitter.

The timeframe for the launch of the Phone (2) was kept vague at the beginning of May with summer 2023. In an interview with Forbes, Carl Pei has now narrowed this down to July. However, he is keeping the exact date as another salami slice for later.

In the interview, Pei also revealed that the Phone (2)'s battery will have a capacity of 4700 mAh. This would be a small increase compared to the 4500 mAh battery of the Phone (1).

Nothing has also already published a first teaser image of the Phone (2). However, the detailed image invites speculation. White seems to remain the dominant colour. An LED light could also be recognisable and there also appears to be a switch on the back.
