The iPhone 17e is the device that the 16e should have been from the start. Those whose budget is sufficient for the iPhone 17 should go for it - everyone else will get a very solid iPhone with the 17e without feeling guilty.

With its A19 chip, MagSafe and 256 GB of storage, the iPhone 17e offers a strong all-round package. The camera performs well in everyday use. The standout features are the ultra-wide-angle lens and the 120-Hertz display, which are otherwise reserved for the more expensive model.

The iPhone 17e is a solid update of its predecessor, the iPhone 16e. We are particularly pleased that Magsafe has returned. It is also commendable that Apple has kept the price at the 700 euro mark while offering twice as much memory.

With a fast processor and strong battery life, the iPhone 17e makes a big leap over the 16e. MagSafe finally works without a special case. The value for money is also hard to beat in the Apple cosmos: Despite twice as much memory, the price remains at 699 euros. The biggest weakness is the dark 60 Hz display.
