Thanks to its flat design (4.35 mm height), the Cat. 8.1 FLAT patch cable can be easily installed under laminate, parquet, carpets, or behind baseboards. This simplifies installation and cable routing even in tight spaces. Additionally, the cables are characterized by their mechanical durability and long lifespan.

The Cat. 8.1 technology offers a range of improvements over previous copper-based network solutions. Data rates of up to 10 Gbit/s are often no longer sufficient. Faster fiber optic solutions are unsuitable for widespread use due to their high costs. Cat. 8.1 patch cables are also suitable for 25 Gbit/s and 40 Gbit/s Base-T Ethernet networks, eliminating the need to combine multiple 10 Gbit/s Base-T links into a single logical connection. This reduces the number of ports required, saving valuable space in data centers. The maximum bandwidth has also increased to 2000 MHz / 2 GHz.

The conductor of this patch cable is made of 99.99% oxygen-free copper (OFC). This high-quality cable construction allows for optimal signal transmission and greater break resistance of the cable. For flawless signal transmission, the RJ45 connectors are shielded and equipped with 50 µ gold-plated copper contacts.

The U/FTP shielding (PiMF) of the cable and the shielded RJ45 connectors meet industry standards, ensuring consistently high and loss-free signal transmission.

The Cat. 8.1 patch cables are fully backward compatible with previous versions featuring RJ45 connectors, allowing for easy integration into existing installations.
