Venus Optic

The macro lens offers a twofold magnification effect that is not available with most other lenses. The wide magnification range is particularly important for capturing images of insects or plants. The minimal distance of just 17 cm is also noteworthy, as it allows you to get very close to your desired subject. The images optimized for the APS-C system deliver astonishing details and contrasts even at wide open apertures, from the center of the image to the corners. Additionally, the lens impresses with exceptionally good resolution and sharpness. Thanks to its lightweight and compact design, the lens is ideal for taking along and storing anywhere.

The macro lens is characterized by low field curvature, uniform sharpness across the entire image field, and minimal distortion. It is particularly suitable for capturing small objects as accurately as possible at a scale of 1:1. It allows you to approach a subject very closely without causing the image to blur. This results in impressive close-up shots with a high level of detail.

This lens can only be focused manually. Although manual focusing takes longer and is more challenging than working with autofocus, it offers several advantages: It allows you to focus precisely on the point you want, enabling shots that match your vision exactly. In situations where autofocus would struggle—such as in low light conditions, on smooth surfaces with little texture, or in foggy weather—you will prefer to focus manually.

Key specifications

Lens type

Bayonet lens mount

A lens mount is an interface — mechanical and often also electrical — between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is confined to cameras where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the single lens reflex type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Lens mounts are also used to connect optical components in instrumentation that may not involve a camera, such as the modular components used in optical laboratory prototyping which join via C-mount or T-mount elements.
