Can I, for example, load the photos from the SD card of my camera via this adapter onto my Samsung Android? Can these be individual photos or how does the transfer to the tablet work?

Works perfectly.
Insert the card into the reader and plug it into the phone.
In the file browser, an additional drive then appears via which you can access the individual photos, view them or select and copy them individually.
If the Samsung Android has a USB-C (is not the same as mini/micro USB) port, it should work. I use it with a MacBook that only has a USB-C port. This is the fastest way to transfer photos from an SD card to a Mac. Greetings P.
