Hello. Yes, I think this mouse is suitable for small adult hands. I didn't install any software. The mouse was detected directly by my Mac. Best regards.
As far as I can remember, I didn't have to install any software.
The manufacturer writes the following about the size:
Hand size for Evoluent VerticalMouse 4
The Evoluent VerticalMouse 4 models in normal size (Right Wireless, Right Mac, Right Bluetooth, Right and Left) are suitable for hands with a length of at least 178 mm from the tip of the middle finger to the crook of the wrist. Hands shorter
I don't know about small hands, I'm a normal size. But I do know that this brand makes a small version.
No need for software, unless you want all the options available (like assigning the double-click to the middle button, very practical).
The given hand size for this mouse is min. 178 mm (evoluent.com/size/).
My hand is 1 mm smaller than that, but the mouse is quite comfortable, so I can use it without problems.
For smaller hands there is this one: Evoluent VM4S (Cable)
Software: the mouse is automatically recognised under Linux, Windows and Mac.
I have rather large hands and it is big enough. There is an extra one for small hands (VM4S).
Normal functions work without installing software.
I've had the mouse for a long time and wouldn't want to give it up - it works perfectly even with a very small hand. A few days of adjustment and now it works smoothly and quickly - I can only recommend it. Plug it in and get started. It's very simple.
Hello Isabelle. Go to 'evoluent.com', where you will find various details that will help you. Basically, the mouse is also suitable for small hands; when you plug it in, it should be automatically recognised by the PC. Best wishes and have fun with this really very good mouse, which takes some of the strain off your hand.
On the Evoluent website there is more information and a PDF to download with hand sizes etc.
