Ettore Sottsass was born in 1917 in Innsbruck and is internationally recognized as one of the pioneers of the renewal of design and architecture. Thanks to him, the rigid functionalism of the pre- and post-World War II years was overcome. In the language of the great and influential master of Italian design, potential energy and vitality are expressed in design and color, contrasting with any form of intellectualism and rigidity. He passed away in 2007.
