This original tableware is sourced by Lambert from a traditional manufacturer in Asia. The straightforward, cobalt blue kitchen check pattern is a contemporary development by Lambert and is made entirely by hand. This decor features the naive, irregular brush strokes of hand painting. Each piece is still thrown on the potter's wheel and then hand-painted – without stencils. The kiln, in which the items are fired at temperatures of up to approximately 1,100 °C, has been in operation for centuries. The authenticity of this production can be seen in the small irregularities in shape and decor.
