The device was fine for me because of the height and time saving, until I stopped using it for a few months. When I wanted to use it again, the battery was empty and I had to recharge it, but after that it no longer reacted to hurdles and walls. Just bumped into them. I don't think it's the steering but the sensor. To the hobbyists; I would imagine it could be fixed - I think it just discharged everything. But I have neither the means nor the time to do it. That's why I could give it away, otherwise it would just collect dust in the corner.
I would advise against it. The hoover is dumb as a brick and gets stuck at every little threshold and whistles like crazy. In addition, it has no navigation system to plan routes or to drive through the flat. It always drives to the same places in a criss-cross pattern. The sensors also work very badly, it drives into everything practically without braking. Better to pay 200 more and buy a decent one (e.g. Xiaomi).
Yes, it goes without a problem. I also let both of our robots run without a cloth. BTW: To set the timer, the robot needs a Wi-Fi connection and the Deebot app.
No. He tries to climb steps up to about 1 cm, but rarely manages it. (going down)
The robot vacuum cleaner is also available in the black version: https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s2/product/ecovacs-dslim2-roboterstaubsauger-8783156.
