Product details
Despite the long focal length of the Schmidt-Cassegrain optics, the tube features a very short design, making the system a compact telescope that is characterized by extremely lightweight transport properties. Light strikes an aspherically shaped Schmidt corrector plate and is then directed onto the spherical primary mirror. This reflects it onto a secondary mirror, which redirects it back toward the primary mirror. The light beam then passes through the primary mirror, which has a central opening. This directs the light into the eyepiece holder located at the bottom end of the tube. Thus, the system is closed and is not affected by air turbulence that could degrade the image quality. Naturally, this also provides optimal dust protection. The Schmidt plate is multi-coated, ensuring bright and low-reflection images.
