FI/LS switches (RCBOs) provide personal and property protection as well as protection against electrically ignited fires in accordance with DIN VDE 0100-410 and DIN VDE 0100-530. They ensure the protection of single-phase circuits against overload and short-circuit currents, protection against sinusoidal alternating currents and pulsating currents with a smooth residual direct current component of up to 10 mA to ground. Additionally, they offer fault protection (protection against indirect contact), supplementary protection, and fire protection. They comply with product standards IEC/EN 61009-1 (VDE 0664-20), IEC/EN 61009-2-1 (VDE 0664-21), and DIN EN 62423 (VDE 0664-40).

An optimal compromise between safety and operational continuity is achieved thanks to the interference resistance with surge current resistance (surge current waveform 8/20 µs) = 3,000 A against unwanted tripping and a 10 ms short-time delay. The DS201 MF is mixed frequency sensitive, specifically designed for single-phase electronic consumers with frequency converters, with a frequency range of 1 - 1,000 Hz for detecting fault currents.

Rated switching capacity according to IEC/EN 61009 Icn = 10 kA. The RCBO DS201 MF Type F is single-pole protected (LS) and double-pole switching.
