The BIRKENSTOCK Kay features two straps, one of which is fixed at the shaft. The second strap can be flipped over using the hidden snap on the side and can be worn either at the shaft or as a supportive heel strap as needed.

This ESD variant has been specifically developed for individuals working in the microelectronics field or with high-frequency technology. These shoe models actively facilitate a continuous gentle discharge for the wearer. The antistatic elements in the sole balance potential electrical voltage differences between the person and the work environment by providing a constant "grounding" of the feet. The upper material is made from the skin-friendly and durable synthetic material Birko-Flor®.
