This cable tracing and testing device, consisting of a tone generator and a probe, is an extremely practical aid for cable installation and troubleshooting. The probe tests for continuity and identification, determines wire polarity and voltage in network and telephone cables. The tone generator sends a signal through the connected line, and the probe is used to locate the corresponding line at the other end; it provides visual indication via LED as well as audible signals. The probe features a special inductive plastic tip to prevent accidental short circuits in the vicinity of high-voltage equipment.
