All knives feature a hornbeam handle and are made from special carbon steel. They have a hardness of 59 - 61 HRc and come pre-sharpened. Before the first use, they should be honed with a whetstone to achieve their final sharpness. Our tools are made from carbon tool steel and not from stainless material, which means they are naturally prone to corrosion. Corrosion can occur due to hand perspiration or fluctuations in humidity. For this reason, we recommend that all customers clean the tools with a lightly oiled cloth after use or during storage. This light film of oil can help prevent corrosion.
