Product details

Chisels with beech handles are used for cutting wood and are therefore versatile. Among other applications, they are used for dovetailing and mortising wood. They are also useful for renovation or restoration work, as well as for carving and crafting. The sharp edge allows for smoothing surfaces and removing bevels or protruding wood fibers. The chisel is a true quality product from KIRSCHEN, traditionally and professionally manufactured since 1858. The striking cap protects the handle when used with a mallet or soft hammer. The chisels have a hardness of HRc 61 over the entire usable length of the blade, far exceeding DIN standards, and their smooth polished surface creates a clean cut. The chisels are factory-sharpened with a cutting angle of 25 degrees, ready for use. This angle is suitable for soft to medium-hard wood. It is advisable to hone the blade again before use with a sharpening stone. The blade should be regularly wiped with an oily cloth to prevent rust formation.
