The TKR series cable conversion current transformers are compact. The TKR consists of two core halves, one or both of which carry the secondary winding depending on the version. Cable conversion current transformers are primarily used for retrofitting. The TKR series are inductive, single-conductor current transformers operating on the transformer principle. They serve to adapt the primary measurement value to the input nominal values of the connected measuring devices. Due to the applied measurement principle, these current transformers are suitable for exclusive use in alternating current networks. The TKR series is only suitable for mounting on insulated primary conductors.

These current transformers are suitable for low-voltage systems and for retrofitting without opening the circuit. The housing can be opened via a plastic joint, the frequency is 50 to 60 Hz, for secondary currents of 5 A, operating voltage up to 720 V, accuracy class 1 in accordance with IEC 1036, temperature range from -5 to +50 °C, for mounting on cable lines. The unbreakable plastic housing is made of gray polyamide and is flame-retardant. The insulation test is conducted with 3 kV Ueff, 50 Hz, for 1 minute, with a fixed connection cable of 0.50 m length and 1.5 mm².
