General Information

Advantages at a Glance

  • Easy and quick installation with one-sided access to components
  • Placement of high-quality threads in thin and soft materials (steel, aluminum, magnesium, plastics, etc.)
  • No thermal effects on the components, thus no warping or damage to the surfaces of the components. Therefore, no reworking is required
  • Very high flexibility of the manufacturing process
  • Low investment in assembly equipment
  • Versatile applications. Also suitable for hybrid connections and soft materials.
  • Creation of water- and gas-tight connections
  • No emission of heat, smoke, or welding gases into the environment, thus no impact on humans and the environment

Terminology
The setting head is the part of the blind rivet nut that rests on the visible side of the component. The user has the option to choose from the following variants:

  • Flat head - for a large contact area on the component
  • Small head - for minimal protrusion of the blind rivet nut, resulting in an almost flush seating of the assembly part
  • Countersunk head - for flat surfaces with countersunk holes

The shaft is the part of the blind rivet nut that deforms during the setting process and secures the blind rivet nut in the component. This creates the so-called closing head. The user can choose from the following variants: Round, knurled, or polygonal (six-sided or four-sided)

The Material
The customer can obtain the blind rivet nut application-specific in steel, aluminum, or stainless steel (A2, A4).

The Thread
Standard GESIPA blind rivet nuts are equipped with metric threads, with the steel blind rivet nuts meeting the requirements of strength class 8.8. Upon request, additional dimensions, such as imperial or coarse threads, are available.
