It’s the same struggle every year: coming up with ideas for bits and bobs to put in my kids’ Advent calendar. Here are 24 suggestions for under ten francs each.

It could all be so simple. Picking out a ready-made Advent calendar, popping it in my shopping cart. Done. After all, there are plenty of models available in all colours and shapes, for every age and every interest.

And yet, I’ve still never shop-bought one. Why? Because they’re as unspectacular as the daily trip to the letterbox. Although you never really know what to expect, you’re still disappointed every time, because it’s always the same in the end.
