Question about Philips FY2401/30
I clean the filter regularly with water and a mild detergent. However, since it is always wet when in use, I wonder if mould can form on the filter and then spread when it is moistened? Thank you for your answer.
According to the instructions of the humidifier, the filter should be soaked in medium strength or acid cleaner for 1 hour every week. We use citric acid. Please also note that the filter should not be squeezed or wringed out.
The instructions also state that bacteria and fungi can form on the filter if it is not used for a long time. For storage, it should therefore be cleaned beforehand and dried thoroughly. In operation, therefore, it should not be a problem if cleaned properly. Since the filter should be replaced every 6 months anyway, we throw it away after one season and use a new filter for the next.
