The NTA 8776 certification arose from the growing use of e-bikes as urban transportation. The standard takes into account the higher average speeds and the resulting higher impact energies in accidents. To meet the requirements, the helmet must be able to dissipate more energy compared to standard helmets and also provide additional coverage for the most vulnerable areas - the temples and neck.
