Why are the inner dimensions of ear cushions rarely specified?
I am currently looking for a wireless over-ear gaming headset for the PS5 and am wondering why manufacturers almost never specify the inner dimensions of the ear cushions (height × width × depth). Especially with over-ear headsets, this is a crucial criterion for wearing comfort! An example from my experience: Logitech G733: inner opening approx. 5.8 × 3.7 cm (even narrower towards the bottom) – too small for my ears, even though the sound and microphone are excellent. SteelSeries Arctis 7 (older model): fit perfectly. Teufel CAGE Pro: according to community information approx. 6.5 × 4.5 cm – at least a bit larger. Terms like "over-ear," "extra comfortable," or "generous ear cups" don't help much with selection when the actual inner dimensions are missing. Especially during longer gaming sessions, a few millimeters can determine whether the headset sits comfortably or causes ear pain. My request to manufacturers and retailers like Galaxus: The three inner dimensions of the ear cushions should be just as standard in the technical specifications as weight, battery life, or connection type. I would be interested to know: How do you see it? Have you had similar experiences? And do you know of any wireless gaming headsets with really generous ear openings and fabric cushions? Perhaps together we can put together an interesting overview. 🎧🎮
