Purchase recommendation for quiet and possibly actively ventilated 19" rack

I am looking for a 19" rack for my NAS and other 19" devices (max. depth 50 cm). The rack should be closed and insulated as it will be used directly in my office and therefore either passively cooled (if this is sufficient) or with a quiet active ventilation system. And if possible under CHF 1000. The 19" rack will house my NAS, a switch, UPS and 19" audio devices. Does anyone here have any experience and can give me a few recommendations? Thank you.

Am I in the right place? Box for NAS, router and switch

Dear Community I would like to store all my components (2x 8-series switch, Raspery-Pi, 4-series NAS; ideally also all the power strips) in a box. However, I am confused because there is often talk of "19" rackmount". The pictures always look great because the network components fit exactly into the housing and are nicely patched; but I don't have that claim. I just want a box (to put it bluntly) that can be locked so that it is not accessible to children. What keywords do I even use to find such products ;-) I think I need to do a bit more research, but I don't have the keywords to get the right answers. Thanks for your feedback so that I can move in the right direction.

    Server cabinet made of plastic

Hello I have a field distributor hanging on the wall where all the power and network connections come together (installed by an electrician, WxHxD 55x65x16 cm). I now want to hang another cabinet underneath it where I store all my smart-home hybrids, router and switch. The typical field distributors I have found so far are made of sheet steel. So are the server cabinets I've found here. However, sheet steel will probably dampen the router's WLAN signals too much. That's why I'm looking for a cabinet with similar dimensions but made of plastic. Does anyone here know of anything along these lines, or does anyone have any other good ideas on how to store the stuff in a somewhat orderly manner, protected from dust?

How high does the wardrobe have to be?

I am planning to buy a 19'' wall cabinet, but space is somewhat limited. How do I plan something like this? What I know for sure: 1U for BKS Homenet, 1U for router, 1U for switch. Later possibly space for 1U USP. So at least 4U. But do I have to add 1U for a power strip + 1U for a cable brush strip? Anything else I'm forgetting? Actually, I would also like to put the UPC / Sunrise modem in there and a Synology disk station right next to it. Of course, this is not quite "rack-compatible" and will certainly need another 4-5 height units. I'm currently deciding between 7U and 9U, both of which would probably fit, but higher ones would be difficult to install. Merci for tips

Communication cabinet with space for perforated plate

Hello together I currently have a UPC connection with house connection amplifier and 4-way splitter mounted on a perforated plate, with earthing - all mounted by a technician (power socket with a connection separately next to it). As I am considering house wiring, which I would like to do myself, I am also looking for a suitable network cabinet for the basement. A patch panel would go in there, a switch (modem/router not!). Because of the lack of space, the above-mentioned perforated plate would also have to go in, possibly also the power connection, which is right next to it, directly on the perforated plate. This way I would also have the power for the switch directly in the cabinet, and I would simply install a small power strip. Ideally, I would like to have a 10" cabinet, but if there is no other way, 19" would also work if necessary. The only important thing for me is that I don't have to make any major changes to UPC's existing installation, except for maybe screwing down the entire cabinet and screwing it back in slightly offset. I am therefore looking for a network cabinet that is open at the back so that the perforated plate with the components can be placed. These also protrude about 10 cm. The width would be. 30 cm, the height is approx. 60 cm, as it also has a fat coaxial cable that bends downwards before it goes upwards into the ceiling. Does anyone know of a suitable cabinet? Or do you think that's not a smart approach?

    Choose the right server/network rack

How do I choose the right server/network rack for my home? A beautiful home installation needs to be well thought out. What do I have to consider? (Quality, comfort, appropriate to the situation)
