The film rolls that can be played with this device do not have a specific maximum diameter specification in the information provided. However, it is common that film rolls with a diameter of about 20 cm can be used in such scanners, as they are typically designed for standard film rolls. For exact confirmation, I recommend consulting the manufacturer's instructions or the user manual.
Automatically generated from the .It hasn't changed. It is not possible to capture the film frame by frame. The camera scans each frame and creates a video file on the memory card which can then be retrieved with a USB cable, or directly from the memory card.
As I wrote above: "I saved to a SanDisk ExtremePLUS SDHC 32 GB card formatted in the unit itself. Occasionally I saved the files to an external hard drive (under Mac OS) and formatted the card again".
For me, it still exists: https://reflecta.de/en
The scanner saves the scanned Super 8 films with 1440 x 1080p and 30fps as mp4, which corresponds to FHD in the aspect ratio of 4:3 and not 16:9. If you really want Super 8 in good quality FHD resolution, the Reflecta Super 8+ is the more suitable choice. I am not aware of any other alternatives.
10 minutes of film take up a little more than 1 GB of space. However, the film then runs too fast and has to be recalculated. And the picture quality of the result is rather modest. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the device for normal to high demands.
So you certainly don't want to tinker with the film spools. You can simply buy them if you don't have any. However, a 5-inch empty spool is already included in the delivery. On YouTube there are countless videos of this and similar products, which are probably all identical, only with a different branding/brand name. For example, the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STmKlyiuxK4 For post-production and video editing in general, the usual video editing programmes (Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, DaVinci Resolve, etc) are recommended. Of course there are also freeware programmes on the net, just google "video editing Windows (or Mac)". Enclosed is the complete scope of delivery: - Scanner - power supply unit - USB cable - TV-out cable - 5-inch empty spool - 2x adapter for coils S8-N8 - Cleaning brush - Instruction manual And the manufacturer's page (with more info): https://reflecta.de/de/products/detail/~id.840/reflecta-film-scanner-super-8-%E2%80%93-normal-8.html
