Should work. :) But you will certainly notice a difference in speed compared to the SSD. Alternatively, you could also retrofit a Game Drive M.2, certainly the nicer solution. Seagate Game Drive M.2 SSD for PS5 (2000 GB, M.2 2280)

Yes, you can. The PS5 even supports all external USB hard drives with USB 3.0/3.1 speed. If necessary, the hard drive can be formatted directly on the PS5 or on the PC (normal FAT32 or the newer exFat). Here in detail: https://www.playstation.com/de-ch/support/hardware/ps5-extended-storage https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/ps5-external-hard-drive.html

Digitec is not responsible for the internal operation or malfunction of the PS4. Try putting the default save on the external drive. Go back into the game and make a new backup. Otherwise see the official PS4 documentation https://manuals.playstation.net/document/fr/ps4/basic/extendedstorage.html#:~:text=You%20can%20d%C3%A9place%20applications,Param%C3%A8tres)%20%3E%20%5BStorage%5D.&text=S%C3%A9select%20storage%20o%C3%B9%20se,%2C%20then%20s%C3%A9select%20%5BApplications%5D.

HDD These data relevant to you are not given because even the manufacturer does not specify them. What should Digitec write then? https://www.seagate.com/de/de/consumer/play/game-drive-playstation/#specs https://www.seagate.com/www-content/datasheets/pdfs/game-drive-playstation-emea-DS1995-7-2010-DE-de_DE.pdf There are reasons why they are not given and Seagate is not the only manufacturer. Hardly anyone actually does this with external hard drives. If the manufacturer does not give exact technical specifications, he is very flexible in the HD he installs in the housing. So he can always take what is currently available and cheap.

I used it like a madman on the Ps4 for 3 years. No problems at all. The PS4 is now with this external hard drive at my brother's. Since November, since I now have the Ps5. I can't say anything about the external hard drive constellation with the PS5 from my own experience, but I can only confirm what you wrote.

Yes, however, for PS5 games, the console requires the game to be on the console's hard drive. This means that you have to move the game if you want to play it. Unlike PS4 games, the PS5 console can play the games directly from the external hard drive.

Yes it works, PS4 games are automatically installed on the Seagate Game Drive, PS5 games can only be installed on the internal PS5 SSD and not on the Seagate Game Drive.
